24 Santa Fe hybrid won’t start or unlock with the key fob

Has anyone else had this issue? My Santa Fe was left in ‘Drive’ for two days, and now it’s completely unresponsive—won’t start or unlock with the fob. Had to use the physical key to get in. It’s only got 2000 miles on it. Any advice on what to do next?

I’ve seen some reports of this happening because of a dead battery. For some it’s a defective battery, and for others, it’s from driving only short distances too often. I actually got a low battery warning through the app during my first week, so I used a trickle charger to bring it back up to full and haven’t had issues since.

Thanks! What’s a trickle charger?

You’d want something more like a Schumacher Electric 3-in-1 Battery Charger, Maintainer, and Desulfator (model SC1355). A trickle charger slowly charges a depleted battery safely, which might help avoid future issues.
