43 days and still no word on when I get my 2024 Santa Fe back. Not sure I want it back now

It all started when my car had a dead battery! Then there was a glitch with the tailgate. Then it died again. I brought it back to the dealership and this new code popped up. Now it’s been 43 days with no answers, just the same line, ‘We are waiting for the Hyundai Engineers.’ They were there on day 7, got the data, and left? That makes a lot of sense, right? I’m so frustrated. Hyundai told me, ‘Be patient, we’ll get you your car back eventually!’ But I’m still making payments on it. This was the car I really wanted, and now I absolutely hate it. I wish I never traded in my 2022 Santa Fe Hybrid.

Dealer had our 2008 for 5 months before the part finally came in (subframe). We got used to the loaner (2024 Toyota Corolla Cross) and were actually a little sad when they called to say our Santa Fe was fixed lol.

@Blair
I hate the loaner they gave me. It’s a crappy CX-90 Mazda. I hate it. And I hate that I’m still paying for my car while having no answers. From what I know, it’s just ‘an issue we are working on.’ I wish they would be more honest with me.

@Weston
There’s some kind of payment halt they might offer if they have your car for too long. When my transmission broke on my 2024 Santa Fe, they had it back in 3 weeks (I was lucky). I mentioned I was nervous about still making payments without the car, and they told me, ‘Oh no, we would have called Hyundai to halt payments.’ I’m not sure how it works, but it’s worth asking. Good luck.

@Vann
I asked, and they said they never do that.

Is this a hybrid?

No, it’s not a hybrid.

@Weston
Isn’t the CX-90 a great car?

For who? I hate it. The infotainment system is outdated, and the second and third rows are cramped. The only good thing about it is the 6-cylinder engine. I just can’t stand it. It’s a crappy Mazda. I wouldn’t recommend it.

@Weston
I had a CX-9, and it’s even more expensive with fewer features, tech, and comfort. If I’m going to ‘settle’ for a car, it better be under 60k and at least have a touch screen! It’s 2024—what car doesn’t have a touchscreen?!

@Weston
I felt the same way when I rented one this year. Why do people like the Mazda?

I have no idea, but apparently, if you’re into Mazda, they are amazing. I just don’t like them. And I feel like it’s ugly. Plus, it pulls while driving. The only good thing is that it’s a 6-cylinder.

Brand loyalty is a weird thing. A friend has a CX-90, and the interior seems fine, but man, it’s ugly.

Hmm, that’s weird. Our Santa Fe had a dead battery this morning too. Is your Santa Fe a hybrid?

No, it’s not a hybrid.

Okay, thanks.

Did they at least give you a loaner?

Yes, but it’s a crappy 2024 Mazda CX-90. Having a loaner doesn’t mean anything when it’s a car I didn’t choose. I loved my 2024 Santa Fe, but now I don’t want it back. I look at them and cringe.

My BlueLink app tells me if the battery is low, since I’m a long-haul truck driver and the car sits for 3 to 5 weeks at a time.

Yeah, the app said nothing was wrong. So who knows what’s going on.
