Also Their produce section is a complete mess, and Market Street isn’t any better.
I’ve returned meat from the co-op three times now. Every time I got home and started cooking, it was bad. I had to go back each time. I’d suggest buying frozen meat instead, especially for the price they’re charging. I want to support the co-op, but not at the expense of my family’s health. Also, the produce is great—if you’re Jeff Bezos. But hey, he owns Whole Foods!
Aside from Market Street, the other two Albertsons look worn down, as if they haven’t invested in them for years and are just letting them decline.
That’s why I invest five times as much in my home gardens. Honestly, grow your own vegetables (all of them, not just the easy ones) and you’ll see how much time and money it takes. I wouldn’t stop doing it, but wow, it’s tough and not the most efficient way to get high-quality produce! You should appreciate being able to just swipe a card for beautiful greens.
It’s unbelievable that Santa Fe doesn’t have a single grocery store where you can find everything. Having to visit two or three (or more) stores just to get basic groceries and stock your pantry is both wasteful and frustrating.
I shop at Marketplace (as well as Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Smith’s) and generally don’t have any issues with it. I’m glad to have these options available.
