Am I expecting too much? Found a small cut in my wheel right after I got it. Texted the salesman, he said warranty will take care of it. Should I even bother?

You paid a lot for that car, you absolutely deserve to get it perfect! Especially with a warranty, they should take care of it for you.

Work order created :pray:

That’ll probably get worse over time with regular use. You’re not over-expecting. You’re right to expect the car to be in the same condition it was when you picked it up. Have them fix it, even if it’s a small issue. It’s your car and warranty is there for this reason.

@Nuri
That’s what I was worried about, it will probably get worse as I use the car more.

Yeah, you’ll be putting pressure on it every time you touch the steering wheel. It might open up more over time. Get it fixed now before it becomes a bigger issue.

If it was on the back of a seat you rarely look at, maybe it’s no big deal. But this is on the steering wheel, which you see every time you drive. It would drive me crazy. Definitely get it fixed under warranty.

I always think about how much damage it might cause before deciding to fix it. This one is on the steering wheel, and you’ll see it every time you drive. It’ll probably get worse over time. I’ve scratched my leather wheel before with my coat zipper, and it’s annoying to look at. Get them to replace it while you can.

Yes, you should get it fixed. It’s a small issue now, but it’ll probably get worse.

I have an old car with cracked leather, but I still think you should get that small scratch fixed while it’s under warranty. It might seem small now, but it’ll only get worse.

For anyone curious, I just left the dealership. They’ve ordered the new wheel and will replace it once it arrives. :slight_smile:

Yes, get that fixed! Also, make sure to check your driver seat cover. There have been some reports of faulty installation, and dealers should fix that too while it’s under warranty.

Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Have it swapped out.

I have a tiny nick on my glovebox. I pointed it out right away. They offered to take a look and fix it, but I said they should replace it if their guy can’t fix it. It’s a small issue, but it’s something that bothers you once you notice it. Have them fix your steering wheel.

@Jensen
Just left the dealership. The new wheel is on order. :ok_hand:

Oh, that would bug me too! You’re spending your hard-earned money, so get it fixed.

Yes, definitely.

Yes!!

That scratch will just get worse over time, so get it fixed.

What year is your car? I’m having the same issue with my 2024 Santa Fe (less than 3 months after getting it).
