Best dashcam for 2025 Hybrid SEL? Need recommendations!

There are so many dashcam options out there that I’m feeling a bit lost. I’m really interested in the FitcamX, but I don’t want to mess with any of the car’s built-in features.

Has anyone installed a dashcam they love and would recommend? Looking for something reliable and easy to install.

I got the FitcamX (front and rear), but so far, I’ve only installed the front cam. Works great and was pretty easy to install.

Still figuring out the best way to run the rear camera wires without messing with the airbags in the pillars. If anyone has tips on that, I’d appreciate it!

Thanks! Is your car a 2025 Hybrid too? What’s your plan for the rear cam—are you installing it yourself or getting it done professionally?

@Hollis
My rear cam wire ended up being too short, so I got a second camera just for the back.

Also, heads up—most square rear cams don’t work well at night if you have window tint. Another reason I went with a second cam.

r/dashcams has a bunch of recommendations if you’re willing to spend more. YouTube reviews helped me a lot too.

Did you buy it on Amazon?

I’ve been using the Viofo A229 Plus, and it’s been great.

FitcamX has been solid for me. Had a weird SD card issue, but swapping to a different one and doing a quick firmware update fixed it. Their customer service was helpful too.

For running the rear cam wire, just pop the pillar trim slightly and run the wire through the gap where the airbag ends at the top of the A-pillar plastic. That way, if the airbag ever deploys, the wire won’t get in the way.

Then, just tuck the wire along the headliner on the driver’s side until you reach the back. There’s a YouTube video showing how to route it through the rubber grommet on the trunk door. Whole process took about an hour.
