Bluelink Isn’t Working for Me - Help!

I just want to use the remote engine start feature that’s built into my car :sob::sob:. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Your Hyundai might be using an older cellular network, like 3G, and that network was shut down. Check with your dealer or Hyundai about this.

That’s exactly it. Hyundai really should support their tech better, especially since you have to pay for the subscription. My Genesis Ultimate has a tech package, but now most of it doesn’t even work. They knew this was coming and still didn’t have a solution. I guess I’ll just move on to another brand after this. They wouldn’t even update the infotainment system, though they did for older, cheaper models.

@Patton
No car brand has a perfect solution for this issue. It’s just how things go when networks get upgraded. There are third-party mods to fix this problem. But saying it’s only Hyundai? That’s not true.

@Weston
Do you have links, descriptions, or even vague hints about these mods?

@Weston
You’re somewhat right, but 2G was phased out well before my car was built. They just went cheap. I’d even pay for a new modem if they offered it.

There are third-party options for updated modems. No car company builds cars to stay updated forever. If you want the newest tech, you have to buy tech that supports it. That’s just how it works.

@Patton
There’s literally an update that fixes the 3G issue. Just relax and take it in for service.

They told me mine uses 2G, not 3G. But I’ll check again. Thanks.

There is an update for this issue. Call your dealer and ask about the Bluelink update. They would’ve done it during your next service anyway. 3G has been removed, and there’s a fix.

Unfortunately, Bluelink and my dealer said there’s no update for my car.

@Patton
Take it to the dealer again. There’s a software update for this issue.

Thanks! I’ll give it another try. Can’t hurt.

Do you know what years this update applies to? Or is there a specific update number?

Thanks so much! I’ll call them tomorrow!
