This would be for a 2025 Limited FWD
I’ve never gotten a new car before so I don’t want to look foolish.

The balance is $10,000 more than the selling price. They are not being honest with you. Walk, and walk fast. They have a huge oversupply of these vehicles in the US (not sure if you are in Canada), most dealers are giving 10% off minimum - they added that back in with all the extras.
Fees of $2150 are ridiculous. That plus the PPP and add-ons you have to refuse.
They’re giving you a discount off the top to butter you up and then raiding you on the back end.
Every dealer has a document fee but it’s typically $100-400.
@Vann
I’m definitely going to refuse the PPP but how can I negotiate the fees down?

Tell them they need to do better or go elsewhere. It’s always best to have competing offers from more than one dealership.

Why not try going to a different dealer?
We paid $46K for our 2025 Limited Hybrid 2 weeks ago.
I’ll be honest that’s not a good price at all. I picked up a 2024 AWD Calligraphy 2 months ago for $47,958.
Get a price from Amazon for the same car BEFORE you make any decision. An AWD Limited from Amazon at my local dealer is $47K plus change, so you’re in the ballpark.
What are the Dealer Installed Options? Did you ask for them? Are they useful to you? I know my dealer puts some silly barcode on the car in case it gets stolen. I tell them that I’ve never had a car stolen, so I don’t know if they work - take it off. Obviously they can’t, so they end up taking that off the cost.
Recommended PPP: Do you know exactly what this is? (I don’t, but it’s been a while since I purchased).
Documentation Fee: You can’t usually get this removed - you’re stuck with it. I’d look at the Fees and see if they can reduce those because between doc fee and ‘Fees’, you’re looking at $2K. These should be broken down so you understand exactly what you’re paying for.
Anyway; you’re now deep into negotiation territory, and that’s where car salesmen live. Go quiet on them for a few days (tell them you’re researching your options), and watch a few YouTube videos on car buying.
