I spent two weeks in Santa Fe for work and volunteered at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. While there, I met a sweet boy named Larry.
I’d adopt him if I didn’t already have two cats! He’s been at the shelter since 6/7, and I can’t believe no one has adopted him yet.
He’s an amazing lap cat—he curled up on me for over an hour—and is so calm and quiet. I wanted to sponsor him, but the staff said there’s a promotion, so he’s only $15 to adopt. Just wanted to give him a shout-out here!
Do you know if Larry gets along with other cats? I have two almost one-year-old tortie girls and am thinking about adding a third cat. I’m looking for a laid-back guy who’d enjoy sitting on my lap while I watch some trashy TV.
Aww, I’m totally in love. I can’t have a cat right now because of my troublesome dog, but if I could, I’d adopt Larry in a heartbeat. Thanks for giving him some love!
Hi there! I’m an SFAS volunteer who helps run a social media account focused on promoting SFAS animals. We mainly feature dogs (and calls for kitten fosters) since the kennels are often over-capacity, and cats usually get adopted quickly. But we love cats too, and we’d be happy to do a post for Larry. Our posts typically reach a few thousand viewers across platforms. If you’d like to help, please send photos and some text about his personality to friendsofSFAS@gmail.com.
I can’t share external links here, but our Instagram and Facebook accounts are Friends of the Santa Fe Animal Shelter if you want to check us out. We’ll also post him on Nextdoor through personal accounts.
It’s awesome that you found time to volunteer during your short stay and are going above and beyond to help Larry!
