Looking for recommendations for walkable neighborhoods for a short visit

Hi,
I will have valuables in my car (hidden from view) such as camera equipment that I will have to be leaving in my car. I’m wondering if there are some safer areas with things like a good coffee shops and local stores in close proximity. Mainly seeking advice for where I can hang out and kill time for half the day and have less likelihood of my car getting broken into

Coffee shops and walkable areas are typically around the Railyard, Plaza, or Canyon Road. For safety, it’s best to keep your equipment with you, as there have been many car break-ins recently. Canyon Road seems the least affected, but not entirely crime-free. For parking and sleeping in your car, consider Fort Marcy or Frenchy’s Field, though there might be issues with people reporting you. Use window screens or reflective materials to protect your privacy. There are many great places to explore, just avoid drawing attention to yourself.

Avoid sleeping near Frenchy’s Field. Instead, stay at the Santa Fe Lot on the north side of town.

I haven’t visited Canyon Road much due to parking issues, but it’s known for its art galleries and upscale restaurants. The Plaza has typical tourist spots but also some hidden gems; the state museum is worth a visit. The Railyard offers places like Iconik, art markets, free and ticketed art museums, boutique shops like Double Take, and plenty of food options. Another option for car camping might be Hyde Park or the area towards the ski resort. Wherever you choose, keep pepper gel handy for safety while you sleep.
