Troubleshooting Fingerprint Sensor Issues

Does anyone have tips to make the fingerprint sensor work more consistently? I’ve already tried deleting and re-adding my fingerprint, but it’s still hit or miss.

I just realized you don’t actually need to have a passcode or fingerprint set. It didn’t fit my lifestyle, so I just turned it off.

That might be the way to go—thanks!

I set mine up once and haven’t had any issues. It’s great for starting the car when I forget my keys. I also have the digital key working on both my phone and watch.

I use the fingerprint sensor, but my wife and I share the car, and we’re very different heights. Logging in with the fingerprint automatically adjusts the seat, mirrors, HVAC, and phone connection to the preset. She prefers the physical key, while I use my phone. If I were the only driver, I might not use it at all.

Are you trying to start the car without your keys, or is it not recognizing your fingerprint at all?

I’ve had my car for a week. If the sensor gets dirty, it doesn’t work well. Cleaning it usually fixes the issue for me.

Try washing your hands to remove oil or dirt from your skin—it helps the sensor read better.

The sensor works fine for me. I don’t use it to log in, but it’s handy for starting the car if there’s ever a problem with the digital key.

Quick question: are features like the fingerprint sensor, phone key, and app key tied to a subscription, or are they free forever?

For 2024 and newer models, Bluelink is free for life.
