More cars are being made in the US now. Hyundai building here means more jobs and maybe cheaper repair parts in the future. Policies are already making an impact.

Even if cars are assembled in the US, a lot of the parts still come from overseas.
I wish Hyundai used their 2.5 NA engine in the Santa Fe Hybrid instead of the 1.6T.

That would’ve been great. But I do like the power on the 2.5T, and the next-gen Palisade is supposed to get a 2.5T hybrid!
@Sawyer
They should’ve gone all out and used the 3.3T from Genesis. That would’ve been amazing.
@Sawyer
How does the reliability of the 2.5T compare to the 1.6T?

The 1.6T works harder due to its size, especially in heavier vehicles. The 2.5T is a bit better but still smaller for the weight it’s pulling. A 3.3T would’ve been incredible for performance. Let’s see what they do with the Palisade.

The 1.6T is likely there for global markets where engine taxes are based on displacement. It fits into tax brackets in places like Europe and Japan.

If you’re in Australia, the 2.5 NA might still be an option.

I think the 2.5 NA is gone in most markets. It’s mostly 2.5T or 1.6T hybrids now.
