Why won’t this tire pressure warning go away?

The tire pressure warning keeps coming on and won’t turn off. What’s going on?

I had the same problem. Turned out I needed to pump all my tires to 35 PSI before it cleared up.

Same here! I’ve got a 2023 Hybrid, and the manual says to set them at 35. That fixed it for me.

Yep, 35 seems to be the magic number. If it drops too low, the warning sticks until you get it back up to around 35.

Mine did this too. The driver’s rear tire was flagged even though it wasn’t the lowest one. When the weather got cold, my tires dropped to 28 PSI. They’re supposed to be at 35 PSI when cold.

Seems like the system just picks a random tire to warn about when it gets cold.

Check the sticker on the inside of the driver’s door. It tells you the recommended PSI for both front and rear tires. Inflate to those numbers, drive a bit, and the system should reset itself.

People post about this all the time :rofl:

I heard there’s a recall for this issue.

Where can I find info about that?

For some reason, the tire pump at my local Costco shows 3 PSI higher than what my car reads. I usually set the pump to 40 PSI, which ends up being 37 in the car. Works fine for my Santa Fe tires.

Probably just the cold weather messing with the tire pressure.

Yeah, PSI should be around 36. Check the placard inside the driver’s door. I had the same problem.

I agree with everyone else. It clears at 35, but 36 might be the default recommendation.

I’ve got a 2024 with Pirelli tires. They’re really sensitive to temperature changes. A difference of 2 PSI doesn’t seem to be a big deal.

It happened to me too. The warning cleared when I inflated them to 36.

Same issue here. My tires dropped to 28, so I pumped them to 35, but the warning stayed on. Then I went up to 36, and after driving for a bit, the warning finally disappeared.

I’ve had this happen on multiple cars. So annoying!

My tires dropped to 27 when it got cold. I inflated them back to 35, but the warning stayed on for about 100 miles of highway driving.

Same here. I just inflated the tires to the recommended pressure, drove for a bit, and the warning went away.
