What year is your car? I’m having the same issue with my 2024 Santa Fe (less than 3 months after getting it).

Yes, have it fixed.
Get it fixed. A good leather guy will have it done in 30 minutes!
Yes, definitely.
I don’t think that’s covered by the warranty. Isn’t that damage from a fingernail?

Looks more like it got nicked by a ring or a knife.
If you’re leasing for 3 years, don’t worry too much. But if you’re planning on keeping it for 10 years, definitely take it in. It’ll probably get worse and look bad over time.
Yes, you should definitely get it fixed.
Also, if it’s a heated steering wheel, I’d be worried that the circuitry underneath the cut might get affected.
You’ll probably touch it a lot while driving, and little by little it’ll get worse. Even if it doesn’t cause issues now, it might later. Also, if you ever try to sell the car, it could be a problem for the buyer.
What about 3 scratches on your car with only 607 miles when it was delivered? Then they took it in to fix it, added 180 miles to it, and it came back with a bubble in the paint? I’m still dealing with them over this.
@Remi
That sounds frustrating. I hope it gets sorted out soon.

So far, they haven’t come up with a good solution. They want me to take it back to the same dealership that caused the issue and put another 180 miles on my lease. I’m not doing that, there are other dealerships closer to me.
I had the same issue with my 2024 Santa Fe. It’s been almost 3 months, and they still haven’t replaced the steering wheel. They’re claiming they can’t get the part. At this point, I’m thinking about asking for a credit towards future service.
Unless you cover the steering wheel, your nails will probably scratch it eventually.
