Is it just me or does anyone else find the auto stop feature annoying? I know it’s meant to save gas (I have the 2025 Santa Fe FWD Limited) but man… maybe I’m just not used to it yet. I know it can be turned off but I’m just venting here haha.
I always turn it off before driving.
The lag is pretty bad. I haven’t seen this much of a delay on my other car.

On my 2020 Santa Fe, I don’t get any lag. By the time my foot moves from the brake to the accelerator, the engine is running and ready to go.

Hmm, I wonder why that’s happening.
I used to think it was super annoying, but then I got used to it. I just stopped caring about it and now I don’t even notice it anymore.

I guess life goes on haha
I have a 2019 Santa Fe and I started turning it off as soon as I start the car because I noticed the more I used it, the more stress it put on the starter and alternator, which eventually damaged the battery. It’s been 2 years since I stopped using it and I haven’t had any problems.
…the more I used it, the more stress it put on the starter and alternator, damaging the original battery… How did you figure out it was stressing those parts?
@Gracen
The starter in cars with auto stop/start is built for it. It’s different from the one in cars without this feature.
I hate it! I turn it off as soon as I start the car.

Glad I’m not alone
Never used it.

Isn’t it standard on all the Santa Fe models?

I turn it off right after I start the car every time.
The saleswoman who sold me my Tucson last Friday said she had her son pull the fuse under the hood so the auto stop doesn’t work anymore. Definitely annoying.

Wait, what?
@Uma
Not on my car. She did that on her own Hyundai.
I like how quiet it is when I’m stopped for a while. It’s easy to anticipate when I’ll need to move, so I let go of the pedal a little and the engine restarts just before I need it, with zero lag.
