I just got a 2025 Calligraphy, and I’m not sure how to lock it after parking. Do you always have to use the remote? The inside lock button on the armrest doesn’t seem to work, and I can’t find an exterior button like my previous cars with smart keys. Any advice?
There’s a small square indent on the driver and passenger doors. Just tap it briefly, and it locks the car.
I feel you! I’ve often wanted to ask this myself but didn’t want to sound silly. I didn’t know about the little square either. Thanks for bringing this up!
It’s frustrating that the inside lock button doesn’t work for this.

It actually works if you move the key fob far enough away from the door. The system assumes you’re trying to lock the key inside otherwise.
Thanks, everyone! I was trying to figure it out in the cold and dark. Feel a bit silly now!

I was googling this same thing recently. My old car locked automatically when I walked away, so this is taking some getting used to. Love the car, though I wish the lock button worked better.
I’ve noticed the little indent on the handle doesn’t work unless the person with the key fob is the one trying to lock it. It can be inconsistent.
There’s a button on the outside door handle you can use.
Just tap the little square on the driver’s door handle to lock it, and grab the handle to unlock. You can always use the key too.
Don’t these cars come with manuals anymore?

Manuals? Nah, easier to just ask here. Nobody reads those these days .
So many new cars are like this now. It’s been driving me nuts ever since I got my 2016 Golf.
Just got a 2024 model, and I totally understand what you mean. It’s a bit of an adjustment.
