What are your top 5 favorite features in your new Hyundai Santa Fe?

I came from a 2012 stick shift Mazda 3 with no tech, so everything in this car is new to me.

I still have a lot to learn about this car, but here are my favorite features so far:

  1. I love the turn signal cameras and aerial view camera! No more blind spots, which is amazing!

  2. The seat automatically moves back when you get in and out. It’s such a thoughtful feature.

  3. I love Apple CarPlay. It’s my first time using it.

  4. The UV-C light is great for germaphobes like me. Our phones are disgusting, and now I can clean mine anytime!

  5. The phone charging pad is super convenient.

What about you? What are your top features?

I love the reverse warning with haptic feedback. It actually stops the car if something’s in the way.

We live in L.A., and people sometimes speed up when they see a car in reverse, trying to squeeze past. It’s crazy!

Here are a few of my favorite features:

  • Door handle lights that turn on when I approach the car.
  • It shifts to park automatically when I turn off the ignition.
  • The Bluelink app is useful for sending commands remotely.
  • Lane departure and blind spot warnings are less annoying on the 2024 model than on my old 2019 Santa Fe.

I also find the wireless charging pad to be much more useful than I expected. I don’t need a cable anymore, and my phone stays cool with the vent pointing at it.

@Ren
My Bluelink isn’t working yet. What do you mean by remotely sending a command? Also, can you explain lane departure?

Oh, my bad! I meant to break down the features separately.

  • The Bluelink app lets you lock/unlock the car, start it, or check its location remotely.

  • Lane departure warning alerts you if you drift out of your lane without signaling, and it gently steers you back.

  • The blind spot warning lets you know if something is in your blind spot while driving.

  • HDA2 is awesome.
  • Eye tracking works great. It asks you to hold the wheel but only requires a light touch.
  • The seats are very comfortable.
  • It has both physical buttons and a screen.
  • The Qi phone charger actually works well.

@Emerson
I’ve noticed the car adjusts to keep me centered in the lane, but I haven’t tried cruise control yet. I thought I’d dislike the lane assist, but I’ve gotten used to it. The seats are awesome, and I do like the physical buttons too!

@Noor
Once you get used to Adaptive Cruise Control, you’ll love it. It’s almost as good as GM’s Super Cruise and Ford’s Blue Cruise, and with Hyundai, you don’t need to pay for a subscription.

Thanks! I’m looking forward to trying it out.

@Noor
The cruise control is great. I can quickly adjust the follow distance from 1 to 4. It also stops if the car in front of you stops, and to go again, you just click a button or hit the gas.

The touch screen sensitivity is perfect. I love the adaptive cruise control and steer assist.
The overhead view and parking cameras are awesome.
Apple CarPlay is great.
The wireless charging pad works really well.

@Quillan
Yeah, the touch screen sensitivity is spot on. My Range Rover Velar had a delay that used to drive me crazy. Then, the Palisade was too sensitive and would register two presses for one tap. But the Santa Fe? No issues at all.

  1. The 3-D view is amazing.
  2. The digital rearview mirror is great.
  3. HDA2 works smoothly.
  4. Thumbprint recognition is super convenient.
  5. The voice recognition commands are a game-changer.

I really love the rearview camera and the turn signal cameras. Such a nice touch.

I came from a 2007 Mazda 6, and the hot feature in that car was a 6-CD changer, haha. I really like the parking cameras and adaptive cruise control. But little features have surprised me too, like the car alerting me that the temperature had dropped enough to create ice on the road. It’s just so nice to have a modern car, and it drives so smoothly.

@Cairo
Haha, the 6-CD changer is a throwback! I also noticed the parking brake automatically engages when I park close to something. It’s a cool feature.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention – I got used to the heads-up display faster than I expected. It’s so handy!

I love the keyless feature.

It’s so cool to get into my car just by having my phone in my pocket. It’s a great feature for when I forget my keys somewhere.

Bluelink is fantastic for cooling the car down before I get in. I have a black-on-black car, so it’s really useful.

The remote parking feature is great for tight spaces. I’ve used it to move my car and even to clean my tires!

I’m surprised how many people have the Calligraphy trim, especially with the exclusive features like HDA2, digital rearview, and thumbprint scanner.
I think these are only available on the Calligraphy trim, but I might be wrong.

@Layne
I got the limited trim, but it’s great too!
