Just filled up my tank and thought I’d share my numbers from this last refill along with some details:
AWD
Mixed city & highway driving (Phoenix, AZ area)
Vehicle mileage: ~3,300 miles
Last fill-up stats: 435.5 miles traveled / 33.3 mpg average
Also, I let the gas go down to a 48-mile range, which I don’t usually do. But when I filled up, it took 14.5 gallons, meaning there were about 3.2 gallons still in the tank. At 33.3 mpg, I could’ve technically gone another 100 miles, despite the display saying 48 miles left.
Not a scientific test, but it’s nice to know there’s a little buffer for emergencies!
Share your own MPG stats! I see this question a lot on this forum, so maybe this thread will be a good reference for current and future owners.
Edit: I drive pretty easygoing, usually 5-10 MPH over the limit, and I use regen braking on Auto.
Canada AWD owner here. Lifetime average is around 6.7L/100km (35mpg) at 6100km (about 3800 miles), but that includes towing a 1200lb Seadoo and an ATV for 500km each.
My city range: 5.9-6.4L/100km (37-40 mpg) and highway: 6.3-6.9L/100km (34-37 mpg). When towing, I get around 7.5L/100km (31 mpg) for the Seadoo and 8.1L/100km (29 mpg) for the ATV.
I used to drive a V8 truck that got about 16 mpg, so this is a big improvement!
@Teo
I came from a GX460 with an average of 15.4 mpg. First hybrid, so it’s cool to see how much better gas mileage is, especially in the city where the electric motor seems to take over more.

Yep, city driving is where hybrids really show their strengths.
25 Hybrid 2WD in Dallas area, consistently getting 34-38 mpg with a mix of city and freeway. I was only getting 29-32 mpg until I changed the original oil around 1200 miles.

Nah, I go to a reliable shop close to home. I don’t let the dealer handle it.
Tried getting mine changed, but the shop wouldn’t do it. Said they didn’t have the right filter because the car’s too new. They recommended just sticking to the manufacturer’s interval.
@Sayer
Sounds like they didn’t want to bother! The OEM filter has been available for a while. I always change the original oil around 1500 miles, as it usually has more metal particles. After that, I follow the standard intervals.
AWD, 3300 miles, averaging 32 mpg. In the city, I usually get 34-45 mpg (depends on the direction with all the ups and downs), and on highways, I get around 27-30 mpg (going 65-85 mph).
